Terry E. Forcht was inducted into the University of Louisville’s College of Business Entrepreneurship Circle of Fame at a ceremony in Louisville on November 1, 2012. The ceremony was held to recognize the accomplishments of “our business innovation champions,” said Charles Moyer, the College’s dean.  Names of the honorees are now carved into a granite slab inside the Jane Goldstein Plaza, a newly renovated circle in front of Harry Frazier Hall, the building that houses the College of Business. The inductees included:

  • Terry Forcht, a 1959 graduate who is founder and Chairman of Forcht Group, Forcht Bank and numerous insurance, media, health care and financial businesses;
  • David Jones, a 1954 graduate who co-founded Humana Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer for 44 years;
  • James Patterson, 1955 graduate who began his career in 1959 as a franchisee of Jerry’s restaurants, later founding Long John Silver’s and Rally’s;
  • Dan Ulmer, a 1955 graduate who is chairman of the Louisville Bats AAA baseball team and former president and chairman of PNC Bank, Kentucky Inc.;
  • Stewart Cobb, a 1956 graduate who started in the hardwood veneer business in 1960, later creating Cobb Wood Products and Lamnitops Inc. and founding Midwest Veneers;
  • Tom Davidson, a 1962 graduate who started a variety of successful businesses, such as Datatel Inc., Invision Medical Inc. and the Balance Bar Co.;

About 100 business and community leaders attended the induction ceremony.  Attending from the Forcht Group of Kentucky were Marion Forcht, Rodney and Laurie Shockley, Debbie Reynolds, Roger Alsip, Eddie Woodruff, Dennis Cupp, Jackie Willis, David Witt, Linda Wilson, and Brenda Taylor, along with Ed Henson from Henson Media.
