New Forcht Broadcasting station now on the air in Somerset

(November 14, 2008) - With the flip of the switch by Forcht Group of Kentucky CEO Terry E. Forcht, Somerset’s latest radio station, WYKY-FM took to the airwaves in southern Kentucky.

The new station in Somerset joins long time station WTLO-AM, purchased by Forcht Broadcasting earlier this year in providing quality community based radio to Pulaski and surrounding counties.  WYKY is one of 19 radio stations owned and operated by Forcht Broadcasting in Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois.

WYKY-FM's format covers a variety of music and features Jeff Wix during the mornings and station program director Trevor Grisby on the air for the afternoon drive.  The station slogan of WYKY-FM, Somerset 106 represents the station's focus to meet the needs of the people of Somerset and surrounding areas.

Forcht Broadcasting stations are affiliates for a variety of pro, college and local sports including the University of Kentucky Sports Network, NASCAR Nextel Cup, Nationwide (formerly Busch), Craftsman Truck and IRL Racing Networks, Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals, Nashville Predators, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts and local high school sports.  Forcht Broadcasting is a Forcht Group of Kentucky Company.
