The Forcht Group is seeking a Multimedia Sales Representative responsible for selling and creating inspiring media and advertising campaigns for local and neighborhood businesses. We connect the best local businesses in Lexington, KY with the best consumers through our network of newspapers, magazines, local guides, and digital platforms.

You must be comfortable working independently and able to build strong business relationships. We are seeking an assertive, confident, and capable professional with a solid background in OUTSIDE sales/business development with experience in working across a variety of media platforms in the Lexington, KY market.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

  • Meet and exceed sales goals by developing and growing a book of business.
  • Create compelling proposals and presentations based on current sales offerings.
  • Build and maintain customer accounts for multimedia advertising.
  • Find prospect via cold calling, emailing, and site visits.
  • A proven track record in developing new business and achieving individual sales goals by researching target accounts, identifying key contacts and developing account-specific strategies.
  • Maintain a high level of activity – calls, presentations, proposal, etc.
  • Manage the complete sales process across all stages and document activity in CRM.
  • Fluency in media sales and general competency for advertising.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • You have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in media advertising sales in the Lexington, KY market.
  • Excellent face-to-face and telephone skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proven track record in an outside sales, B2B environment.
  • Strong attention to detail including strong proofreading skills.
  • Ability to continuously sign new clients while servicing existing client base on a weekly basis.
  • Desire to pursue and close business.
  • Ability to guide customers in advertising decisions.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Two (2) years’ experience in Lexington, KY media advertising sales (print, digital, or Lexington agency background preferred).
  • Bachelors’ degree strongly preferred, but will consider relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • Proficiency in SalesForce.com or comparable client management software required.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and annual revenue projections.
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

 

Other Requirements

  • May be required to attend outside activities to stay abreast of new developments and best practices.
