Forcht Group of Kentucky rooted itself in the banking industry in 1985 when Tri-County National Bank opened its doors with $1.5 million in assets. Over the years, the Forcht Group started or acquired other community banks in southeast and central Kentucky. A quarter century later, Forcht Bank operates 33 banking centers in 11 Kentucky counties, including Boone, Fayette, Grant, Green, Jefferson, Knox, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Taylor, and Whitley. A new banking center will open in 2010 in Madison County.
Forcht Bank's total assets currently exceed $1.1 billion, making it the ninth largest bank based in Kentucky, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (www.fdic.gov , 3/31/10).
First Financial Credit was formed in 1992 and today operates 13 offices in north, east, southeast, and south central Kentucky. First Financial Credit has loan offices in Corbin (two locations), London, Whitley City, Middlesboro, Somerset, Elizabethtown, Hazard, Pikeville, Prestonsburg, Maysville, Russell Springs and Richmond.
